Introduction to the role

As General Accountant within Green Giraffe Group, you will be part of and will work closely with colleagues (giraffes) from the international Finance and Accounting team. You will be co-responsible for the execution of the following tasks for several of our Group entities:

• Executing accounts payable management
• Preparing sales invoices and accounts receivable management
• Reconciling intercompany balances
• Reviewing the balance sheet and P&L
• Preparing audits
• Supporting our international offices and groups
• Helping to improve our internal processes

We are on the lookout for a new giraffe with a healthy dose of curiosity and proactiveness and who will ensure our invoices are paid on time!

REQUIREMENTS

We would be happy to get to know you, if you:

• Have approximately 3-5 years of experience in finance and/or accounting
• Have knowledge and understanding of accounting, and basic knowledge of VAT
• Are very organised, detail-oriented and have the required know-how to handle sensitive information
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
• Have a proactive mindset, enjoy working in a team, but are also sufficiently equipped to work autonomously
• Are a flexible and resourceful multi-tasker, with a good sense of humour!

Package and application

This position is to be filled on a 32 to 40 hours per week contract, starting as soon as practicable, with a compensation package competitive with local market practice (30 paid leave days, company-sponsored pension, transportation compensation, lunch provision, annual team trips, etc.)

About the International Finance and Accounting team

You will be part of our finance and accounting team (approx. 10 people worldwide, of which half of the team is based in Utrecht). You will be mainly working for our Group entities in the Netherlands, though there will be international (travel) opportunities as well to/with other Green Giraffe offices across the globe.

This new position is a result of recent company growth – and we do not plan on stopping here!

Working style (and dress code) in Utrecht is casual, though professional we work from a beautiful canal house in Utrecht city center, with daily lunches served in the kitchen (or in the garden in Summer!), combined with working remotely from home (up to 2 days per week).
