For a growing, international startup, active in the insurance and financial markets we are currently recruiting a Finance & Accounting Specialist in Amsterdam for 32 or 40 hrs (with hybrid working options).

About the role

As Finance & Accounting Specialist you will play a crucial role ensuring all financial processes are running smoothly. You will closely work together with management regarding controlling activities as budgeting, forecast and cashflow. Your responsibilities include financial data analysis to support further growth, improve the financial systems and you will implement best practices. You will be challenged to participate in various finance-related projects, to further develop your own competencies and skills.

Other responsibilities include

• Provide valuable monthly financial insights regarding forecast, budgeting, management information and other financial analysis;
• Optimize and professionalize the financial department leading to efficiency and effectiveness improvements;
• Responsible for the monthly statements and annual accounts for group companies;
• Oversee cashflow, procurement processes and manage the payment runs;
• Manage the payroll process, VAT filings and align with other experts if needed;
• Participate in key business initiatives and activities to support the business growth.

Your profile

• Bachelors or Masters in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related;
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Accounting;
• Teamplayer that enjoys a dynamic work environment and has strong analytical skills;
• Fluency in English (a fluency in Dutch would be of advantage);
• You live in or around Amsterdam, the Netherlands and are 32 or 40hrs available.
